About Us
There is a place for you at First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, New Jersey.
A historic church in the heart of Harding Township, serving our community since 1833.
Inspiring our community to grow in faith and service
This is our church’s mission statement, and we are committed to providing opportunities for people of all ages to learn and grow, becoming the people God has created them to be.
We are a community . . .
FPCNV welcomes people for all walks of life, and from many different faith traditions. We are a PC (USA) congregation, but our members come from many different backgrounds (Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal, Roman Catholic and more).
We serve our community . . .
We gift 15% of our annual revenue to charity partners in and around Morris County. Throughout the year we connect with them through service projects and special events. Members of all ages find these programs a great way to give back.
Joining FPCNV is easy!
Attend a ZOOM session for prospective members (held the Third Thursday of every month at 8pm), and then be welcomed into membership the following Sunday during our morning worship service.
The only requirements for membership are a genuine desire to follow Christ and a commitment to be an active part of the church community.
Our members support FPCNV by volunteering their time helping out at church events, serving our charity partners, and being a part of our worship services. Some offer their professional expertise serving as advisors or leaders on various church committees. And many members financially support the church.
There is no required financial contribution to join, and we recognize that some are able to give more than others. This is another way we support each other and our church! A very broad suggested annual contribution to FPCNV is 1% of your annual household income.
